The Red Hot Chili Peppers two year hiatus will come to an end in October when the band plans to begin work on new material. No word on a potential release date.

Chevelle Release Date Changed
Chevelle have moved the release of their new album ‘Sci-Fi Crimes‘ up one day to August 31st. The album’s first single, “Jars”, can be streamed on MySpace.
Cavo To Release Debut Album Next Month
Cavo will release their debut album ‘Bright Nights * Dark Days‘ on August 11th. The album features the single “Champagne” in addition to “Let It Go” which was also featured on the ‘Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen‘ soundtrack.
The band is currently performing along side Rev Theory, Shram and 16 Second Stare on the second stage of this year’s Crue Fest 2.
Dead By Sunrise Set Release Date

Layne Staley Benefit Concert Details Announced
The 8th Annual Layne Staley Tribute concert is set to take place on August 22nd at the Showbox Market in Seattle, WA. The concert will feature performances from Live’s Ed Kowalczyk, The Crying Spell, Faceless and other special guests. Additional information on the event can be found here.

Daughtry’s ‘Leave this Town‘ slips to No. 2 on this weeks Billboard Top 200 Chart with 100,000 copies sold. Nickelback moved 22,000 copies of ‘Dark Horse‘ making the No. 23 slot. Rob Thomas remains at No. 25 with 20,000 copies of ‘cradlesong‘ scanned.
Green Day sold 18,000 copies of ‘21st Century Breakdown‘ holding steady at No. 28. Shinedown is at No. 31 selling 16,000 copies of ‘The Sound of Madness‘.
Theory of a Deadman moves back into the Top 50 at the No. 48 slot. Their latest effort, ‘Scars & Souvenirs‘, sold 11,000 copies.
